Privacy
PhotoKit processes all files entirely in your browser. No file data is uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server.
Your files never leave your machine
- We don't upload your files. Ever. Not even temporarily.
- All parsing and editing happens client-side in your browser
- Downloads are generated locally on your machine
- You can disconnect from the internet and the tools still work
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics tool. Plausible collects aggregate page view counts and referrer data to help us understand which tools and articles are useful. It does not:
- Use cookies
- Collect personal data or IP addresses
- Track you across sites
- Build profiles or fingerprints
Plausible is GDPR compliant without requiring a consent banner. You can read more about their approach at plausible.io.
How the tools work
When you drop a file onto any tool, JavaScript running in your browser reads the file, parses the binary data, and renders the results. For the metadata editor, modified files are reconstructed in your browser and downloaded directly. No server is involved at any point in the process.
